Torna in Italia uno dei più grandi nomi della scena glam metal/sleaze rock mondiale: i Crashdïet: un unico esclusivo appuntamento per la band svedese atteso per il prossimo sabato 28 maggio 2022 al Legend Club di Milano. È appena uscito il loro sesto album “Automaton”, e sarà l’occasione per ascoltarlo dal vivo, con tutta l’energia che sprizzerà dal palco! Ne parliamo con Martin Sweet, chitarrista della band.
È un lavoro duro essere una band glam-metal europea, e soprattutto attraverso molti cambi di line-up … Qual è il segreto, o dove sta la forza, di questa fantastica band?
Non ci sono segreti. Siamo semplicemente una band che lavora a testa bassa, e quando lavori senza risparmiarti e con grande attenzione ai tuoi fan, i risultati alla fine arrivano di sicuro J
“Automaton”, il nuovo album, il vostro sesto, è appena uscito (il 28 aprile n.d.r.). Puoi raccontarci il processo di composizione? Ha richiesto molto tempo, ed è stato pensato per essere suonato live?
Abbiamo avuto più tempo per comporre questo nuovo album, a causa della pandemia, e abbiamo scelto le 11 migliori canzoni da circa 30 incise come demo. Nella scrittura è stato molto coinvolto anche il nostro produttore A.W. Nine, presente quindi non solo in studio.
La nuova line-up come si è amalgamata nella composizione nella registrazione e nella preparazione dei live?
In modo fantastico. Gabriel ha raggiunto nuove altezze con il cantato, che dà alle nostre canzoni una nuova dimensione.
L’album è uscito sia in cd che musicassetta. Credete nel ritorno del supporto fisico per la musica?
Sì, sappiamo già che i fan amano i prodotti fisici. Abbiamo pubblicato il nuovo album su musicassetta, cd e minidisc e stanno vendendo alla grande! Sfortunatamente la stampa su vinile è in ritardo (buy on www.dietrecords.org/shop/automaton).
“Go big or go home” è il vostro motto: state arrivando in grande sotto le nostre case! Il nuovo tour sta partendo, sarete in giro per l’Europa, facendo tappa anche al Legend Club di Milano il 28 maggio. Cosa possiamo aspettarci? La set list copre tutta la vostra carriera?
Sì, e non vediamo l’ora di tornare in Italia! Sì, la set list spazia su tutta la nostra carriera, incluse canzoni dal nuovo album. Grazie e ci vediamo a Milano!

Hard work playing glam metal and be european, but most of all through many line-up changes … What’s the secret, or where lies the strenght, of this fantastic band?
There is no secret. We’re just a hardworking band, and when you work hard and treat your fans nicely it will pay off in the end, I am sure 🙂
“Automaton”, the new album, the sixth, just came out. Can you dive deep into the process of composing it for us? Was it a long process, and already meant to be played live?
We did have more time to write songs this time due to the pandemic and as always we chose the best 11 songs out of about 30 demos that we wrote. We had our producer A.W Nine who was very much involved not only in the studio but also in the songwriting process.
How the new line-up blended up in composing, recording and getting ready for the gigs?
It worked out fantastic. Gabriel has reached new heights with his singing and it really gives our songs a new dimension.
The album is out both on cd and musicassette. Do you believe in the return of physical support for music?
Yes, we already know that fans like physical products. We released the new album on Cassette, CD, and MiniDisc and they are buying like hell! The vinyl is unfortunately delayed (buy on www.dietrecords.org/shop/automaton).
“Go big or go home”: you’re about to come big to our homes! The new tour is about to start, you’ll be all around Europe, also calling at Legend Club in Milan on May 28th. What can we expect? Is the set list covering the whole career?
Yes, looking forward to coming back to Italy! Yes the setlist spans our whole career including some songs for the new album! Thanks and see you in Milano!
